MEet Mick Collins

Have you ever thought you would never stop snacking?

Mick had this issue….

A pub landlord who loved his food, especially snacking when bored – like all of the time… When Mick came on board with us, we discovered he was eating nearly half his calories in just snacking!!

Then at the weekend nearly all of his calories in alcohol….

Hey, he was enjoying the snacking – it had become a habit he had created over years and acknowledged it

But…..Hated the way he

😟  Felt 
😟  Looked 
😟  And having such low energy levels 
 
He was speaking to his son, who Mick try’s to be an inspiration for every day. And his son asked “why don’t you have abs dad”. Mick, couldn’t answer the question to this; maybe a little embarrassed.

But he wanted to sort it!

We didn’t have to make massive changes, just…

💥 Create new habits 
💥 Modify old ones 
💪🏽  Add in a few weight sessions a week 
🤔  Understand what’s calories he needed

So he could then inspire his boy…. And look great (whilst still enjoying his food)

Meet Louris 

🚫 I was doing it all wrong!! A grande latte a day and not understanding what was going into my body!?

Louris saw a post we made, 12 weeks out of our last photo shoot and thought “ you know what, I want this” 

Why? 

⏰ She was working 15 hour days 

🐹 Running on the hamster wheel every day 

Never doing anything she wanted to do 

☕️ Waking up, drinking to work at 5am to get a Starbucks full fat, grande latte every morning… She just wasn’t making any time for her self, but when she did try and train she had 

❌  NO ENERGY

❌  NO FOCUS

❌  Didn’t actually want to be there

❌  Plus never got anything from her workouts 

With a 12 week focus, not only Louris had a focus, she has motivation to achieve something, and she sure did that! Would you like to know a little more about the small changes you could make to see some big changes like Louris?

Meet Faye

Faye came to us seeing a friend of a friend achieve something amazing results last year, and wanted to see what she could achieve. It inspired her to make some changes in her life to look the best she could and wanted to see what it took!  With Faye, she needed to understand that weights DIDN’T make her bulky and actually increasing her calories meant she could fuel her body right to get the results she wanted! 

Faye has a very very very stressful job being a barrister, traveling all over the county so we had to ensure her nutrition and training met her life needs! Traveling around and eating from the car was spring that affected Faye in the past, stop offs at service stations and eating “poor food choices”.

Faye has nailed this and created some incredible new habits! We are so proud of @fedwards94 she has reached her goals but not only that, created some sustainable habits for the future! She was and still is an pleasure to work with!

Meet Esther

I had a go at the first photoshoot around 3 years ago; at the time I was so happy with my results – but I knew I could have pushed a bit harder and relaxed a bit more. So I decided to give it another go this year and manage the process a bit better.

As opposed to a longer 16-20 week cut, I went for a shorter 8 week cut. In the 16 weeks cut I found I often had moments where I slipped up and found it hard to stay on track, dieting for 8 weeks meant I could already see the end in sight and made adherence a lot easier. My mentality changed from “I can’t do this for 16 weeks” to “I can give 100%, it’s only 8 weeks”. 

The second photoshoot, I knew what to expect on the day! What it would be like, what peak week, spray tans, hair, make up and outfits would be like – which overall massively reduced my stress. 

I understood and TRUSTED the process a hell of a lot more the second time. I was no longer obsessing over the accuracy of MyFitnessPal and my food scales and understanding that the difference between 60 and 62 grams of porridge was negligible and not going to ruin my progress! (This is what happens to your brain on a shoot). 

I invested significantly more time weight training over cardio than I did the first time which gave me a leaner physique that I was much happier with. 

The most important lesson I learned between doing 2 shoots was the most important part of any fitness photoshoot is not the dieting, not the photoshoot itself, but how you manage your behaviour and habits AFTER. The mental and emotional shift can be tough, you’ve been skinny so long you think you should permanently be that way. Learning to reverse diet and live in a healthy manner post shoot is more important in itself and I would tell anyone doing a shoot to stick with their coach a good 3 months afterwards to reverse diet successfully!

Meet Aleina

We will start with a statement from Aleina. “I wasted so many years on fad diets and this helped rewire my brain to understand how to fuel my body – not deprive it”

Does this sound like you? 

Aleina started with us, wanting to lose a stone as she had gone through a tough time and needed a change in her life which was positive. She was and still is a vegan so she wanted to understand more about her food choices and how to make some good changes as well as start to train effectively.

As time was passing, Aleina was not only getting her target weight, but she was understanding it was not just about the weight.

She was;

🥘 Her lifestyle was always changing which meant she always needed slight adaptions to her training and nutrition.

Aleina was seeing the amazing changes she was making and wanted to progress even more and jump on our yearly photoshoot. Aleina is still working with us now, but her goals have changed to develop her body and enhance her training! She just loves the educational part being the coaching.

Meet Andy

ANDY USED TO BE A SPORTSMAN ( BACK IN THE DAY) WHO HAD LOST FOCUS ON HIS TRAINING. HIS FAMILY LIFE, TRAVELING ALL OVER THE COUNTRY SUPPORTING HIS SON WITH HIS SPORT, WHILST GROWING HIS BUSINESS WHILST STILL TRYING TO TRAIN. TIME WASN’T AN ISSUE, IT WAS CREATING NEW HABITS AND SNAPPING OUT OF HIS OLD ONES WHERE HIS TRAINING WASN’T GETTING HIM ANYWHERE. 

HE USED TRAIN THE SAME ALL OF THE TIME, AND NEVER REALLY BROKE THE ROUTINE OF….

  • BICEP CURLS, TRICEP WORK PLUS BENCH PRESS

ALSO WHEN WE STARTED WORKING WITH ANDY, HE HAD JUST TURNED VEGETARIAN SO HE NEEDED A LOT MORE EDUCATION ON HIS FOOD CHOICES AND SUPPLEMENTS TO SUPPORT HIS NEW GOALS. ANDY WANTED SOME SUPPORT ON THIS. HE NEEDED SOME GUIDANCE, RE EDUCATING AND SOMEONE JUST TO ENSURE HE WAS ON TARGET TO ACHIEVE HIS GOAL! 

ANDY WANTED TO:

❗️SEE SOME ABS 

❗️FOCUS HIS NUTRITION (AS HE HAS JUST TURNED VEGETARIAN) 

❗️SEE SOME STRUCTURE IN HIS TRAINING TO START ENJOYING

AS ANDY SPEAKS ABOUT IN HIS JOURNEY HE SOMETIMES DOUBTED HIS SELF HOWEVER THE DAILY COACHING PULLED HIM BACK ON THE DAYS HE NEEDED US. OH ANDY SUCCEEDED WITH:

💪🏽 4 SESSIONS A WEEK 

🥦 VEGETARIAN DIET BUT STILL EATING 160g PROTEIN 

🍺 STILL ENJOYING A BEER WITH THE BOYS AT A WEEKEND 

ANDY WAS AN ABSOLUTE CREDIT TO WORK WITH! HE JUST ENJOYED THE WHOLE PROCESS AND ALWAYS WANTED TO LEARN AND KNOW WHY SOMETHING WAS ADDED IN OR TAKEN OUT! 

OH, HIS RESULTS WERE NOT TOO SHABBY EITHER! HE DEFO GOT THE ABS!!

Meet Annabel

Annabel is a current member at the body barn who is a keep runner. She has always exercised well and is focused on that front however what she didn’t do was…. 

❌  Fuel her body right 

🙈  She loved snacking… like all of the time 

💪🏽  She never really lift weights in a structured way with a goal 

Annabel came to us, post new year and wanted to get into the best shape she could get into (and as she says now this surpasses anything she felt she could have done).

Her first focus was to get her nutrition right as this was an issue for her. Her lack of understand affected her choices and she expressed she was a 1/10 for nutrition understanding

She works a very manual job where she is active but this made her think she could just “eat what she wanted throughout he day”. 

She also worked a second job helping friends with horses in evenings and weekends. 

And…. She has a child…

Now let’s say she is a busy mum, like A VERY busy mum!! But she never had an excuse of:

  • I can’t prep or plan my food 
  • I can’t train 
  • I am too tired

These words never came out as she made time due to “changing her body and mind” was a priority for her! 

She has been playing around to much with nutrition and exercise and not really understanding it – so now she wanted to give it a real focus! 

As you can see, making this a priority enabled her to achieve her goal but more importantly carry this on and make it sustainable. 

Every-time people see her they are in ore and “wow” her! 

She has achieved so much in such a short period of time (7 months is to re create habits and break old ones as well as change her body shape and maintain it) 

Annabel was inspired by others on the online coaching to start it herself and one of her goals was to inspire others

Meet John

John was a current PT client who has a goal of getting into shape for his nieces wedding. After he had been training for a while and saw the results he had achieved in a short period of time, John set his mind on a photoshoot.

John is a very busy business owner and loved his social life, but he also understood that achieving the best results he could meant for a short period of time he had to make sacrifices.

Meet Sue

Sue completed the annual photoshoot last year and enjoyed the experience and challenge so decided to give it another go.

Armed with a years experience and a years worth of education, her second photos showed a renewed sense of confidence in front of the camera and in her own capabilities to achieve her goals.

She came back better and stronger 🙌🏽

Meet Mike

Office worker, father of two children, sat at a desk for the majority of his working day, with limited training experience.

His understanding of nutritional knowledge has expanded massively as he tuned into healthier choices and portions.

Lockdown 1 and 2 changed Mikes way of training, he achieved the majority of his results during the second lockdown and from home which is very impressive!

Meet Brogan

Brogan began the journey to her photoshoot when she decided to step away from cardio and into the weights room.

Having been a runner for years, Brogan was naturally slender but was wanting to gain some muscle definition and mass, which led her to online coaching.

She had the belief that cardio was the way to burn calories and maintain her weight. However, when she now looks back at her beginning photos, she wishes she had known what she knows now.

This photo was nearly 6 months ago and Brogan is still in the weights room, working and developing her physique.

Meet Hannah

Hannah started the online coaching experience just before lockdown 1.0. She was a current member at The Body Barn, attending a few sessions a week, but this was to counteract the food choices and nutrition she had in her life, as there was no real thought on a day to day basis. 

She felt she was gaining some good knowledge and support in the group based classes, however she NEEDED more accountability with the education behind nutrition and training. So Hannah started the online coaching process.

Hannah started to find a new love for training and food, whilst STILL enjoying her weekends with family and friends:

Hannah would have loved to have joined the 1:2:1 PT programmes, but with work commitments she would have found this difficult. She believed that the online coaching experience was the way to go.

Along the way, Hannah relished the process and transformation. She then developed enough confidence that she joined the annual photo shoot to see what the end results could be. 

Nearly 3 stone later, new self confidence and a new motivation to train Hannah surpassed the results she was after. This could be anyone, and Hannah is one of many who feels the online coaching works for her! Could it work for you?

MEet Josie

Josie came to us, not looking for a photo shoot – but to become re educated ( maybe just educated) in her.

It’s fair to say, she had been a little misguided by social media and perceptions to achieve the results she really wanted.

  • Over training
  • Under eating 
  • Cutting food groups out 

It actually became a little dangerous for her and her health…… It took a long time for Josie to trust the process! 

Coming off 500cals a day, Running at least 5 miles a day, 30,000 steps a day, yes a day!!!

And she felt this was a prerequisite to achieving what she needed! 

We were at are strongest point in the process with Josie eating over 2000 calories, weight training 4 times a week and RESTING… 

It’s very difficult for someone to create new habits and in our profession we usually have to work on the opposite.

  • Move more 
  • Eat a little less
  • Have some focus on training 

We are so so proud of what @josie.k.adams achieved! 

Not just in her body transformation where she was BUZZING. But helping to create new sustainable habits and having some FUN in life, whist living up her uni days!

How she achieved it? Having some structure but understanding to why something was happening.

  • Having energy to train
  • Having rest days
  • Understanding about food groups and what they do 

Plus trusting the person she works with!  This is not just having accountability, it’s about believing in what she was doing would her her where she needed to be!
